Eligibility
You can participate in the weatherization program if you meet the following requirements:
- Home must be built before 1988
- Home must have electric heat as the permanently installed primary heating system.
Tacoma Power offers the following programs:
Rebate Only: Tacoma Power pays rebates based on square footage of upgrade directly to Contractor.
Rebate & Loan: Tacoma Power offers a seven-year, zero-interest loan to pay for costs not covered by rebate.
Grant: You may be eligible for a grant based on income. Grants for rentals are based on occupant’s income. Qualifying low-income customers are eligible for a grant that will typically cover the entire cost of new windows and insulation.
Peninsula Light
Express Window Services also works with Peninsula light through their weatherization program. Peninsula Light will pay $6.00/Sq ft (of window size) for eligible windows.
